Asian Contemporary & Chinese 20th Century Art 2009 Fall Auctions

In the past decade the Asian contemporary and Chinese 20th Century art markets have experienced extraordinary growth gaining popularity among collectors both regionally and globally. Due to the rising importance of on the global world stage, these two markets have witnessed remarkable development and the world's increasing fascination and interest in Asian art.
The upcoming Fall Auction Season will be represented by renowned Chinese artists such as Ai Xuan, Wang Huaiqing, Wu Guanzhong, Chen Yifei and Chen Cheng-po, artists who are also represented in The Hefner Collection. These artists will be included in the sales auction lineup held by Christie's, one of the world's leading art auctioneers. Christie's will launch their Asian Contemporary & Chinese 20th Century Art Fall sales in Hong Kong on November 29. Christie Hong Kong has been instrumental in further developing the art market in and continues to hold top sales in the region today. China Guardian and Poly Auction, two other auction houses, will hold their Quarterly Auctions September 11-14 in Beijing Sales will include Chinese Oil Paintings & Sculptures and Chinese Paintings & Calligraphies, and include works by Pang Maokun, another artist featured in The Hefner Collection. |
